This finger towel is a rectangular piece of white altar linen with neatly stitched, hemmed edges and a plain, uncluttered field. A single embroidered motif sits low in one corner, leaving the rest of the cloth clear for use. It is available in six embroidery colours: gold, silver, green, red, purple and blue.
The motif combines a small cross with long parallel bars and curling scrollwork, worked in a solid, raised satin stitch. Placed in the corner, it stays visible when the towel is folded and carried on the lavabo dish, yet never sits where the priest's hands touch the cloth.
The finger towel is used at the Lavabo during the Preparation of the Gifts, when the priest washes his fingers and dries them before continuing the Eucharistic prayer. The six embroidery colours let a parish coordinate it with the vestments and altar linens of the season, such as purple for Advent and Lent, green for Ordinary Time, red for martyrs and Pentecost, and gold for solemnities and festive celebrations. Silver and blue are available for feasts and special celebrations, according to local custom.
The motif is machine-embroidered at high stitch density, so the cross and scrolls stay crisp and clearly defined. The hemmed edges are stitched for regular laundering and folding, and the white ground pairs easily with corporals, purificators and lavabo dishes already in the sacristy.
Suited to parishes, chapels, convents, seminaries and mission stations, this towel is a practical, well-finished addition to the altar linen for daily and Sunday Mass.
